- Frequently Asked Questions
What is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Cold Light Laser?
Cold Light Laser (LLLT) is simply polarized light.
How does Laser work?
Cold Light Laser (LLLT) calms, relaxes and comforts (de-stresses) the energy field within the body. This in turn evokes a natural response from the brain by stimulating the brain’s ability to produce and release neuro-chemicals (our feel good chemicals) commonly known as ‘endorphins’. These powerful endorphins give the brain and body pleasure. The effect is immediate and is experienced as enhanced well-being, elation and even euphoria.
Is Laser safe?
Laser (LLLT) is completely safe for the human body, however it is not available (as a precautionary measure) to those who are pregnant, using light sensitive drugs (cancer drugs) or are fitted with electronic pacemakers.
Does Laser hurt?
The human body can not feel Cold Laser Light however the energy field within the body responds to the light. Laser is a very calming and relaxing experience with many clients drifting into sleep state during Laser Therapy.
How long does Laser Therapy take?
Advanced Laser Therapy Clinics (ALTC) programmes take from 2 – 4 hours depending on the particular programme. Exact times are specified on each Treatment programme information sheet.
Will I gain weight when I stop smoking/drinking/using?
No, weight gain is no longer a consequence of quitting.
Will I need more than one Laser Treatment?
No! One Laser Treatment is all that is required to break free of addiction, arrest weight gain or relieve stress, anxiety and depression. However ongoing Laser Therapy can be very helpful and thus desirable when dealing with challenges or difficulties that come up unexpectedly. Regularly scheduled Laser Therapy Treatments targeting stress and anxiety assist in enhancing and maintaining optimal ongoing health and well-being.
What if I have more than one addiction?
When dealing with multiple addictions or associated addictions or behaviors, for example...Nicotine, Marijuana & Alcohol or Nicotine, Alcohol & Drug or commonly Nicotine & Weight Gain or Anxiety & Depression (or other combinations), whilst all of these addictions or concerns may be treated individually it is advised and preferred (where possible) to treat all addictions simultaneously (together) in one single treatment, thus creating a Combined Treatment session.
This Combined Treatment programme approach is highly successful because addictions are often strongly associated and clients find the combined approach easier, more comfortable and they provide substantial time and cost savings.
